Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Set up and operate a variety of cutting equipment for production runs in the machine and fabrication departments.
- Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for production runs based on job specifications.
- Blueprint Reading: Work from prints, sketches, shop orders, and verbal instructions to complete tasks accurately.
- Quality Control: Check finished parts for conformance to specifications, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Material Handling: Pick up own materials and return finished products to designated areas.
- Maintenance: Oil and clean machines regularly, and assist with shop cleaning as required to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Process Improvement: Follow established procedures while looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar production or operator role.
- Good coordination and mechanical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and symbols.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Shall possess personal hand tools.
- Basic computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using overhead and jib cranes.
- Experience with lift machinery such as forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to talk, stoop, hear, and use fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Standing and walking for extended periods (estimated at 8-10 hours per day).
- Ascending and descending stairs and/or ladders.
- Work in moderate manufacturing noise levels; ability to hear and respond to instructions in loud areas.
- Occasionally work in spaces with noise up to 100 dB (company-provided ear protection will be provided).
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be exposed to dust or other irritants and electrical/mechanical/power equipment/heat hazards.
- Possible travel and working around others.
